I’ve been getting cortisone injections in my scalp for my Alopecia Areata for 11 years, I’ve lived in 3 states and probably seen 10 or 12 different dermatologists. Sarah with Patient Care at the Children’s Skin Center is by far the best!! Firstly, she was super friendly as soon as she walked in to treat me which made me immediately feel comfortable in a new place. She paid strict attention to my hair loss patches and what areas needed treatment. She was meticulous and made new and appropriate suggestions that I have never heard of before when she felt like she could help in new areas or in different ways. This was truly important to me because it was so obvious and apparent that Sarah cares. During my treatments with her, she was super fun to be around with fantastic positive energy, and the environment she creates is very relaxing so I knew I was being taken care of. I have tried 2 other providers since I moved to Miami, and they were horrible, nothing compared to Sarah!! I will never go to another dermatologist because of her, and I’m also looking forward to seeing her again in the future! I definitely recommend her for anyone coming in for dermatologist treatments and she gets the best recommendation I can possibly offer! However, the last time I went to see Sarah, I didn’t have the greatest interaction with the main doctor… I would definitely steer clear of this lady in charge. I was scheduled to see Sarah and was waiting in the patient room for her when the doctor in charge walked in. She looked surprised that I was even there, and when a nurse walked in to tell her I was seeing Sarah, she ignored her and just did my injections anyway. She missed several of the areas I needed injections in, all of which I went over with Sarah prior, and, despite telling her, spots were still missed. The syringe that was drawn was not all used up, but she sent me on my way despite me telling her she missed a few spots that desperately needed shots. Of course, those spots have since become bigger and now I have not only the physical anguish that accompanies hair loss, but the mental anguish as well. At one point when Sarah came back, the main doctor unprofessionally and aggressively started complaining about how another patient’s medicines were “all wrong”. She never asked Sarah to step out of the room and basically ignored the fact that I was in there while she pretty much attacked Sarah for a good three minutes. Sarah tried to ask her to step out, but the main doctor dismissed her and when she was done with her tirade, just walked out. I felt really bad for her as she just had to stand there and take it while I also had to also sit there and listen although it didn’t concern me at all… I cannot express more how professionally Sarah handled that awkward situation and how unprofessionally the main doctor handled everything else. She 100% could have waited for me to leave the room or at least let Sarah explain the situation, but instead, she took it upon herself to just assassinate her right then and there. After the fact, Sarah was once again and of course the sweetest person you could ever speak with... She apologized over and over when it wasn’t even her fault. I thanked her so much and told her that I would definitely be coming to see her again, but I can’t say the same for the other doctor…
